What started as a birthday trip for my husband turned into something much more meaningful. As we explored the Finger Lakes, I found myself unexpectedly transported back to Ukraine. The rolling hills, endless vineyards, family farms, golden fields, fresh produce stands—even the scent in the air—felt so familiar. For a moment, it was as if I was thousands of miles away and right at home at the same time. Standing among the vineyards, I couldn’t help but think about Dr. Konstantin Frank, the Ukrainian immigrant who saw the potential of this land decades ago and helped transform the Finger Lakes into one of America’s premier wine regions. Today’s reminder that getting home to Connecticut from NYC sometimes feels like an Olympic sport. 😂 On the way back to Grand Central, I accidentally (or maybe fatefully) took the E train from the West Village. What should’ve been a simple commute somehow turned into: 2 walking tunnels, 3 staircases, searching for the mythical S train at Penn Station, and briefly considering either calling a cab… or walking barefoot. 😅 But after the chaos, I made the one stop to Grand Central, sprinted to Track 19 with 4 minutes left, and somehow made my train home. Now sitting in an air-conditioned train headed back to Connecticut, I realized commuter life is kind of like reaching any goal: sometimes the route is confusing, exhausting, delayed, and absolutely ridiculous… but if you keep moving, you eventually get where you’re supposed to be. 🚆✨ And honestly? There’s no better feeling than seeing Milford, CT in MTA App as my destination💙🤍
